Each yarn base is designed by Jill to highlight the unique properties of the fiber used, be a pleasure to work with & make something that will wear well so it can be treasured for years to come.
Jill Draper Makes Stuff was born out of the desire to showcase the many beautiful breeds of wool while appreciating the work of each person & animal involved in the process.
Jill has been a maker as long as she can remember. After graduating Pratt Institute with a degree in Fashion Design & working in NYC for several years Jill realized she craved a closer relationship with the things she was designing. After a move Upstate, Jill started partnering with local farms to buy directly from the people raising the fiber & then bringing it to local mills to have it custom spun into the yarn she dreams up.
All yarns are made domestically from sheep to skein, including every step in the process. Did you know the same is the case for our throws, notebooks & totebags?! It is!
We’ve made every effort to limit the amount of packaging we use & to try to make that as sustainable as possible. We hope you’ll resuse the box your yarn arrived in & the tissue wrapping it.
