This is a HUGE hank of yarn weighing in at ~1.7 pounds (that's ~770g) and measuring 1280yds/1170m. This rustic but soft 4-ply is made with Rambouillet wool grown in New York state. It is spongy with a cottony hand and does have a little chaff (hay) in it, the mill I use doesn't use a harsh chemical wash to dissolve it. It's round, balanced structure makes it great for cables & Rambouillet's sturdy but still fine fibers will wear well in mittens & sweaters for years to come.
